To "Disappointed". God did not write the Bible. You have been brainwashed into thinking that so the church can control the people who follow without question. Otherwise known as "sheeple". So, what "word of God" are you talking about?
Plot summary
Cleo loves his life as a youth pastor in suburban Denver, but his genuine support for a teenage girl has put his job in jeopardy. When the church's Elder Board becomes aware of the situation, he's asked to take two weeks off to consider his actions and the impact on his role in ministry. Distraught by the arrival of this news via email, Cleo grabs a backpack and bike to hit the road and figure out what's really true. His journey takes a turn toward Edmond, Oklahoma, when he hitches a ride from a mysterious traveler named Larry and his dead father. Larry's intense skepticism along with a string of peculiar signs causes Cleo to question more than his relationship with the teen...he questions the very existence of Love.

Liked what it had to say.
Interesting faith-based movie
Tripp Fuller (Larry) in real life is an author, podcaster, and spokesperson for a progressive expression of Christianity. As such, the average evangelical is not going to warm to the Christianity presented in The Road to Edmond. Cleo (who names a guy that?) is a youth pastor who is suspended from his position for his acceptance of a young girl in his group who comes out as a lesbian. While trying to take a bike trip to process this, his bike is damaged when Larry runs it over with his van. From there, it becomes somewhat of a buddy/journey film. Larry continues to go Socratic on Cleo in the course of the movie, and both Cleo and Larry reveal more about each other as the story continues. This would be a good movie for a college-aged group to watch and I'd recommend it highly.
Good Message, but poorly executed
This could have been good, but the poor acting, slow pace and rather strange script distracted from a meaningful message.
Message of the film = 8 stars
Execution and acting = 2 stars
Script = 2.
