Plot summary

Gu, a famous gangster, has just escaped from jail. All french police is after him. Before leaving the country with Manouche, the woman he loves, Gu needs a final job to get some money. Cheap copycat, more resembling of a television production than of a feature movie.

This movie has got the look and feel of a cheap copycat: it wants to look like a slick detective noir, but ends up looking a cheap copycat, that looks like a cheaply produced television movie.Not any good? I am hardhit to find anything extraordinory about this movie, every technical detail (photography, sound, editing, lighting) looks cheap and unispired.Arent the acting performances any good then? No, not even Daniel Auteuil, one of my all time favorite French actors, not even he does perform well.This is one big puddle of mediocrity. You know what I mean. Some movies look the part right from the very start. Some dont...

Truly dreadful

As colourful as this is, the look of the film can't make up for the terrible dialogue, bad acting and lumpen pace. It lifts from so many classics (see 'Taxi Driver' for the finale), but falls so short it's embarrassing. The bloody violence seems out of place too.
