Plot summary

After testing his sobriety at a bachelor party on the Vegas strip, Gavin, a recovered drug addict and former TV star, returns to he and his childhood friends' hotel room. Gavin finds that his unresolved past with his friends and his "savior" girlfriend present much more of threat to his sobriety than the strip did. As the night escalates, Gavin and his friends are forced to face their demons within the walls of the hotel room…with or without each other's help.

A Slow Burn

Gavin, the protagonist, is a recovering addict who "wisely" helps organize a friends reunion in Las Vegas - what can go wrong.The movie is about dealing with past issues & trauma, rebuilding friendships, and trying to grow. It sort of demonstrates this but just never gets there.Gavin doesn't take his addiction or recovery seriously - he goes to recovery for a week or two and thinks that is good enough. So how are we supposed to car about him, his pain, and his recovery if he doesn't care himself.The movie plods along as we see him grapple with this and trying to determine if it is his past or his current relationships that are holding him back in his land of addiction.My mind wandered during the movie and one of those thoughts was "is it ironic that a man in the grip of addiction is dating a woman named Addy (short for Addison)?"

the fall

A film about friendship, a night in Las vegas, addiction and vulnerabilitz, slices of memories and fragility.

Not great or memorable but real nice crafted, offering to James Liddell the opportunity to propose a beautiful portrait of fail, frustrations, suspicions and deep fall of Gavin.

The basic virtue - the fair dose of realism. The sin- the precise target, who knows the development of story from other films using the same theme.

At its end, I admitted than real I love it. For few scenes, tension and decent performances, for the story of Addy about boys on bridge and for vulnerability of Gavin. And for fair portraits of characters.

So, just OK.
