Plot summary

What a Nightmare, Charlie Brown! is the 17th primetime animated TV specials based upon the popular comic strip Peanuts, created by Charles M. Schulz. The plot is similar to that of Jack London's Call of the Wild.

A Much Darker Peanuts Story Than Usual

Charlie Brown tries to have Snoopy drag him on his sleigh, only for Snoopy to end up having Charlie Brown drag him. But Charlie Brown has a long-term annoyance over how Snoopy is "overly civilized, not enough dogified", and Snoopy simply responds by making and eating five pizzas, which leads him to indigestion and the title nightmare, where he is a part of a dog team pulling a sled in the Arctic, abused by both the other sled dogs and the man (never clearly seen) who runs the team.I note that in Peanuts' later decades, Snoopy would end up sleeping in bed with Charlie Brown at night instead of atop his doghouse as in the past.
