All I've known about Whitney Cummings was her involvement in that atrocious "2 Broke Girls" show, where virtually every single joke was set up in the most torturous, unnatural way and delivered a punchline that wasn't even remotely worth the terrible writing necessary to set it up. But her name caught my eye on Netflix, so I decided to check out what her standup was like.
On the whole, it was much more natural than her comic writing in the scripted comedy. It flowed fairly well, and was actually pretty funny sometimes. I had no real complaints about her standup, and while the whole men and women, women and men, ain't it funny? sort of comedy isn't exactly blazing new comic trails, I enjoyed it. As a guy, I found it funny even if I didn't necessarily relate to a large chunk of it because my life experiences haven't been the same. being able to find universal strands of humor is really what comedy should aspire too, after all. My only problem was that after 20 minutes or so, I was just desperately looking for some variety of topic and theme. So I turned it off and came back the next day. I lasted another 20 minutes before deciding to take a break and finish it the next day. Even though, as I said, I generally enjoyed her comedy and found her reasonably funny, it's not really a good thing that someone needs three days to get through an hour-long special.
I'll check out some of her other stuff when I get a chance, just to see if the narrow scope of her comedy routine is typical or just a fluke.

I enjoyed it...in parts
Solid Comedy
Whitney is getting better all the time. I give this special 8/10......or 4 Brendan Schaub's 'You'd be Surprised', out of 10.
Why was I worried??
I feel stupid for reading a bunch of negative reviews and thinking that maybe Whitney wasn't funny anymore. She's never been world class, but she was always pretty good. Nothing has changed.
Dear IMDB, how many times do I have to ask for a snowflake filter dammit
