The movie is called A queiet place: Day One. Which implies that you would learn more about the context and the background on how these aliens invaded earth.

This is the exact reason why I feel misled, maybe even scammed.

The whole movie starts a new narrative (with next to none cohesion with the previous two movies) and focuses on a new storyline with a sick girl. For what it's worth: the acting was good. I can't blame the actors.

The writers and producers on the contrary, I am disappointed in. They reduced a pretty good movie formula to a cash grab. By not adding new information and backgrounds, so they could keep viewers 'intrigued' for a next movie. Uhm, no. I dont think so. This does more harm than good. The only new backround info is that they came from the skies and that they eat fleshy mushrooms. Wow, very creative writing and world building!! /s.

The movie was ok, but what was it about? Now that the original cast died, I expected the movie to show us how it all began. But no. This movie was basically about a girl dying of illness during an alien invasion.

Don't get me wrong. Too much alien would be cheesy, so we needed that side story about the girl... but the ratio was off. It was more about the drama and too little about humans vs aliens (like you would expect in DAY ONE!?!?).

It started like you expect, but then it goes like it's been already 2 years since the invasion. No! It was day 1, show me some tanks trying to get those things. Show me some more panic, show me some more than a girl crying about her father.

This movie should've been a better Cloverfield Paradox, instead it was that, but more drama.

So yeah, the movie is pretty good, but it missed the point of what it was supposed to be.

This movie wasn't bad but it could have been called Quiet Place 3. This movie should have focused more on the aliens, the why, where and how of them coming. Even how they were able to determine the mode of hunting and such frim the aliens. To me things like that would be a better prequel.

I did really like the emotional aspect that was written into the story but it began to feel that story line became more the focus as the movie went on and the aliens became the after thought.

The special effects were great. The alien design was same as before stellar. I think the movie would have benefited from being more focused on the aliens and building up to the fight against them.
