Not a bad effort this thriller from Poland, pulled by a directing that remains different from the Hollywood style. The relation between the old timer and the young veteran from Afghanistan is the best of this film. This is not exactly Chuck Bronson and Jan Michael Vincent in THE MECHANIC but it remains interesting to watch and rather close to the Michael Winner's film spirit: the master and the student. Gloomy and not at all in the Hollywood fashion.

Polish Jackal and Mechanic schemes.
Polish Jackal ans Mechanic
This would be a mix up between DAY OF THE JACKAL and THE MECHANIC, a pair of killers scheme, an old timer and a rookie, a student, a war in Afghanistan veteran whom the old timer will teach the hitman's manners. Of course the relationship between those two killers is not exactly the same as in Michael Winner(s film between Charles Bronson and Jan Michael Vincent, but it remains very European, without any Hollywood junk influence, especially the ending, in the Polish mood. A political background that I particularely crave for, without I repeat the American predictable and sh...which you can foresee two miles in advance. Unfortunately not many audiences will see this film.
