A family moves from Columbia to the US to escape the cartels (1999). The film centers on Carly (Mateo Arias) who is into aerospace, physics, math, and death metal. He has to balance his clear goals in trying to keep his younger brother (Moises Arias) who like pot out of trouble. And of course there is immigration.
It was an interesting film. I liked the geek aspect. I watched it with subtitles that were slightly off.
Guide: F-word. Implied sex. No nudity.

WONDERFULL PERFORMANCES, AND A EMOTIVE STORY!!!!
This is a real colombian movie, with excelent performances of Mateo Arias and Moises Arias, they made a great job and they glow in the film, but all the other actors are excelent too. Visually is so beautiful, the songs are very well used in all the different scenes, the shots are great and the way they are filmed is so amazing, the story is real, is something that happens, not just in Colombia, this happens in pretty much all the countries in latinamerica, this is a movie in which you can relate with any of the characters, the actings are emotive and excelent, a great colombo american movie, without any doubt one of the best movies of the year.
A great 90s film
If you like the 90s and 90s films this movie is for you. Lot's of nostalgia watching this movie. The story is done in a way that feels like it is based on a true story, but because it is not based on a true story the ending doesn't feel as satisfying. There is a few plot points that don't really make sense that seemed put in to keep the movie going.
Even though it has lots of flaws I gave this movie a high rating because it is such a blast to watch and brought me back to my childhood.
