What's with the "1" ratings? Very few films are really a "1." Those who give this film a "1" clearly have something against the makers of the film.
Moving on...
This is a low-budget, independent horror film. It was probably made for less than most movies spend on craft services. But that doesn't make it bad - far from it. With stars such as Costas Mandylor, Tara Reid and Robert LaSardo, there's some real talent on board.
And, unlike some other low-budget indies, the stars aren't in it for 2 minutes - they have major roles.
I'll avoid spoilers and say this: There's plenty of gore, laughs, and campy-cheese (or is it "cheesy-camp?") to make this film enjoyable. Most of the acting is good (Robert LaSardo is always a pleasure to watch) and the costumes/locations are believable - they keep you in the film.
If this was a $50 million movie, I'd give it a 3. But it's not. It was probably made for less than 1% of that amount...and, honestly, it's better than some big budget movies.
The Mahals have carved out a nice niche in the industry. This is another good one from them. Overall: 7.

Good indie horror film
10 stars?! How?
Lured in by the good reviews I made the mistake of expecting anything from this movie. It disappointed at every turn. From campy costumes to terrible acting, this could have almost been funny... except it wasn't that either.
The plot is super basic, character development non-existent, and the stereotypes abound.
Highlights include the predictable "double double cross", the "Daisy Duke Duo" that need protecting at every turn, despite being "super tough chicks", and the "Chinese kid sidekick" stereotype...only, he isn't a kid and not much of a sidekick really, just sort of...there. I also really need to invest in steampunk goggles because they will be all the rage Post-apocalypse! Forget ammo, preppers need to stock up on goggles!
Favourite moment was a tie between when the Daisy Duke Duo's dad is killed in front of them - while they hold a shotgun and a shovel - and the shock of the double-crossing militia leader when he is (predictably) also double crossed by the vampires. By "favourite", I mean almost funny enough to make up for the rest of this awful movie, but actually... no.
Not sure what movie the 8/9/10 raters were watching, but it definitely wasn't this one.
2 stars. Only because the Daisy Duke Dad Death Scene was actually funny enough that I chortled slightly.
Seriously Horrid!
Ignore the 9 and 10 ratings reviews. This film is an absolute bore 'n snore! From the acting, dialogue to the story overall, it is a MASSIVE failure. I don't know what the other reviewers were on, or if they were part of the cast and crew, however, their attempts to lure you into watching this drivel is so good that you just want to give it a try. NO! STOP! DON'T!
A waste of time and energy! There may have been an energy vampire around to such you dry why trying your very best to like this film.
Once again I cannot help wonder why people spend money making such awful films.
Avoid at all costs! You have been warned!
