Consent is a very well made film about sexual assault and rape culture. The characters are believable, the situation is believable and, I imagine, this happens far too many times to count in real life where the perpetrator gets away with it completely.
The acting was good, but as with many BBC and Channel 4 Dramas it could have been a little better. The camerawork was good but definitely gave me more of a low budget tv series than a film.
Despite the technical flaws the message is extremely important, and if we continue to normalise such misogynistic behaviours.
8/10: It should be shown in Sixth forms around the country.
Plot summary
Bold and authentic drama set at an elite school where the lines of sexual consent are dangerously blurred. When a serious accusation is made against 'one of their own', how will the school react?

An exploration into the normalisation of sexual assault
Another big drama from Channel 4.
For Public schoolboy Archie, the lines blur between what is and isn't consent, when he takes advantage of Natalie, who's drunk to the point of incapacity.
Definitely a powerful and thought provoking drama, sure it's well made and well acted, but beyond that it hides a powerful message, and hopefully one that people could learn from.
What's most chilling perhaps is the way that Archie is oblivious as to what he's done, the way in which he thinks what has happened is normal, and perhaps the basis for some sort of relationship.
This highlights the need for education, not just sex education, but social skills, all teens need to understand what consent is, I truly think this drama should be shown to teens to understand how quickly things can go wrong.
Tom Victor and Lashay Anderson were both very good I thought, hopefully we'll get to see more of these two in years to come.
Ellen Rhys (Please, please get back to Mallorca) and Richard Harrington were both very good, believable characters.
Worth seeing.
8/10.
