I love cooking shows. I love the "mockumentary" style of the " Best of Show" type movies. This movie seemed like it would be perfect for me. The first 1/2 hour or so, I really enjoyed it. A great, recognizable, funny cast was working for me. Then all of a sudden the wheels fell off. The start of the downfall was when Melissa Macarthy character was introduced. I like her, but she was not funny in this movie. Just uncomfortable to watch. The movie just took an overall mean spirited feel to it, that made it painful to watch. The movie just thinks it's much funnier than it is. It seems like a ton of ad libbing was going on, so maybe a better editor would have improved the film.

I really liked it, Melissa McCarthy was actually the weakest link. It was fun and silly. I thought a couple of the jokes were a bit racist, but the characters are all funny--the cast is incredible.

I enjoyed this comedy. Amazing cast & cameos. Melissa McCarthy is a catalyst to the movie becoming the unhinged comedy it truly needed to be.

Those who have seen Christopher Guest films will embrace this movie from the start.
