It's an great coming-of-age movie from Elena Martín Gimeno that explores interesting themes of female sexuality, social taboos, and the challenges aspects of societal norms with strong performances from the cast, great direction and good writing.
The writing contains difficult themes that may be challenging for some but the writing does a good job on exploring these themes without feeling all over the place and the structure felt balanced and appropriate. Exploring themes of social taboos, sex, family, Spanish culture and the exploration between women and men are well-executed and engaging to explore. Many of the performances were pretty good as the performances help to create an interesting emotional connection between the characters and the settings.
The direction from Elena Martín Gimeno is strong as Gimeno is able to provide strong sense of atmospheres and narratives within the movie and is pretty brave on exploring the difficult topics pretty well. The camerawork is beautiful and the dialogue, while at times can be a little clunky, felt realistic and thoughtful.
Overall, Elena Martín Gimeno does a great job on her first debut feature.

Insightful depiction of a coming-of-age story
A thoughtful insight into desire, social taboos and coming-of-age
A beautiful film depicting how your mental state as an adult can be formed by many small incidents while growing up. Moving away from films of a similar nature that focus on one main incident or trauma, Creatura very delicately guides you through a variety of events, all of which have amalgamated to form the mental block that is the centrepiece of the film. Although not everyone may identify with what she experiences as an adult directly, there are many parts of this film that will be very relatable to everyone.
An incredibly thoughtfully written script that manages to inject much appreciated moments of humour and raw human emotion into what is otherwise an uncomfortable topic. This is aided by the incredible performances of all involved.
All the more impressive that Elena Martín co-wrote, directed and starred in this film.
