This film had the makings of a solid low-budget horror flick. Solid acting and filming. But a lousy, scattered script. It's watchable...but just barely.
Plot summary
When 17-year-old Colton is left at home to babysit his little sister for the summer, he develops a crush on Heather, the beautiful girl who just moved into a mysterious old house across the street. He falls in love with her from afar — but also witnesses her foster father grow increasingly threatening towards her. When Colton suspects the man belongs to a Satanic cult, and is preparing to ritually murder her, he resorts to desperate measures to intervene, and learns that the truth of the situation is more horrifying than anything he had ever imagined...

Great acting and cinematography...in support of a horrid script
The last 5 mins are worth the whole film
My review contains the biggest spoiler of them all. So really don't read if you want the surprise because it will spoil it for you.
This is a pretty basic film that wouldn't have gotten more than a 4 if it hadn't have been for the ending. I won't rehash the basic plot as many have done that. I found it quite entertaining. Most went at a decent pace and there were surprisingly few plot holes. The basic plot twist is very predictable. The characters underdeveloped. I feel they could have dove more into Heather past and maybe found a way to tie the dad leaving with the original fire. It could have given it a bit more depth but hey. As I said basic.
Where is film really made me smile was at the end. So many times I've found myself rooting for the demons when there are any or bad winches or the guy wanting to take over the world. I just wonder what would actually happen. And for once, the bad demon girl won. The sister gets taken by the shades and he'll is brought to earth. I mean how awesome is that? Yeah part of me would have liked to see more but then you can just imagine that he would have to in the end manage to get the sister back and put everything to right erasing everyone's memories in the same process. Seen that, don't need to see it again. So actually stopping there was just right and really made movie. And yes you have to wait until the last 5 mins but hell ;-) it's worth it.
