Sweden's iconic humorist Hans "Hasse" Alfredson got darker over the years, and Falsk som vatten is certainly an example of that. As usual, he was able to attract a great cast for this movie; it's more or less a who's who of the Swedish cultural elite of that era.
The cast also does a pretty good job. There are a few scenes that would have benefited from at least another take, but overall the actors do the script justice.
The film is also well directed and well edited. All-in-all, it is a solid production, even though I believe that reshooting the few scenes mentioned above could have made a big difference. Without it, Falsk som vatten is not a must-see.

Nervous ... and break down
Relationships can be tough ... we mostly don't even know ourselves so how can we tell about our significant other, right? Putting that to the test, especially in a newer, more fragile relationship.
The thriller aspects of the movie work nicely and there is things that you may realize or see that others might miss. And there is also a really nice ending to it all. On the other hand, I assume some might not like the way the movie ... "resolves" things in the end. But you can never reach everyone, now can you?
Good drama, not so good thriller

I don't know how successful "Falsk som vatten" is as a thriller. The first hour or so is an interesting drama, very well-acted by *all* actors (although Stellan Skarsgård simply isn't in the film enough). The last half hour turns out to be some kind of "Fatal Attraction" knife wielding film, only the other way around since the mistress is the one being chased by the betrayed wife. The film is, without a doubt, a good film, but I so wanted to love this film, especially since I really like Hasse Alfredson's previous film "Den enfaldige mördaren", and I must say that in the end it was a disappointment. Good drama, not so good thriller.
