A detective who framed for the abduction of his client fortunately grabs the opportunity to swap his identity and runs on mission to find his client.
The film doesn't even started well though it had a strong plot. Can easily get confused in the story if you're a foreign viewer like me.
Few twist and turns in the end which doesn't get exited after experiencing a tiredness journey.
The suspense factor doesn't helped due to the lack of concentration in screenplay and editting. Poorly written and the only consolation was the well structured characters and the casts who performed it.
Excessive music made the dialogue hard to hear in starting portion of the film.
So many un necessary scenes ruined the flow of narration. For instance, in beginning of the film where the car accident happens, it doesn't needed that much time to establish but the Director showed his creativity in that scene rather than concentrating on the narration.
Really appreciatsble performance from Choi Sung-eun (who performed the lady prosecutor).
Only thing that satisfyingly made was the visually compelling cinematography. Great work from the cinematographer.

Great plot!! But poor narration
A really thought-provoking Korean police drama with twist and turns
I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes Korean dramas, especially police dramas that have very involved stories with layers of complexity, and twists that you're not expecting. This movie had light vibes of the movie the departed with Leonardo DiCaprio's and Matt Damon from 2006. I really liked the originality in this storyline. It is not often that you get to see a police drama that hasn't been overdone by many many people. The acting quality between all of the characters was at a very high-level. I hope this movie makes it to US theaters at a regular theater showing. I would love to buy this movie on Blu-ray when it's released in the USA.
Boring, slow paced and devoid of anything thrilling or entertaining...
Granted, I had not even heard about this 2022 South Korean action crime movie titled "Gentleman" prior to sitting down to watch it here in 2023. But given my love of the Asian cinema, and the fact that it was a movie that I hadn't already seen, then of course I found the time to sit down and watch it.
But writer and director Kim Kyung Won utterly failed to capture my interest with the script and storyline concocted for the movie. The narrative was rather slow paced, mundane and devoid of anything thrilling, and that made it a very boring viewing experience. And I have to admit that it got more and more difficult to keep focus on the screen as the minutes went by and nothing happened.
The acting performances in "Gentleman" were fair enough, despite the fact that the storyline was a dumpster fire.
I didn't finish watching the movie, because I simply lost all interest in the boring storyline and the bland characters that milled about on the screen. And I have zero interest in returning to attempt to finish watching this movie.
My rating of "Gentleman" lands on a three out of ten stars.
