This is the best Jim Gaffigan I remember seeing. I guess I remember liking him and enjoying it before but this was really fun from beginning to end. Now, this is a comic telling jokes and IMDB has gone back to requiring a lot of words. I don't want to give away his jokes. I don't even want to talk about the subjects of the jokes because that would sort of be a spoiler and won't make the jokes better. It's interesting that I could just rate this and give it a score but if I want to say anything, I have to come up with 600 characters of something to say. He does talk about horses and shirts. Actually he talks about horses sort of like the Moby Dick whale species chapters. Quite a bit. But he does apologize for that.

I spontaneously laughed. And identified some.
"I do sometimes lie up here. I'm not proud of it."
Another fun outing by Jim Gaffigan, this time from the State Theatre in Minneapolis. He's become my favorite current stand up comic, taking the every day, ordinary things around us and skewering them brilliantly. Like his takes on eating, gambling, exercise and fitness. He returns to these topics time after time but always with new material that keep his routine fresh and funny. Gaffigan offers an experience with family encounter with a bear in Alaska only twelve hours after having his appendix taken out. I have a feeling that's where his comment from my summary line comes into play. Nevertheless, whether it's true or he's making it up, Jim Gaffigan will bowl you over with his humor, devoid of all those four letter words a lot of comics seem to rely on these days. Tune into this one, and you'll have a good time watching him just 'horsing' around.
Untuckit, Bears & Horses
I really enjoyed this show. He did several different voices, which was good. He went pretty fast from one joke to another, so it felt like he was really maintaining a pace. I like the faster pace of the jokes in this special.
Gaffigan really unleashed some interesting themes that he kept moving forward, like the appendix and the bear. The horse theme was funny. I enjoyed this special a lot.
One thing others mentioned is the laugh track that seems to be in all of his specials, and I blame cheap production values for that. I think that instead of putting microphones all over the theatre to get audience reaction, the whole show is taped in front of a live audience and then Gaffigan does the whole show in a studio where his voice is synced to the live video, and the audience laughter is added in. That is just cheap production by his producers. We have all seen live shows were they manage to get the comic's voice crisp and clear, and the live audience reactions are also clear. I cannot take points off from Gaffigan because of the bad production values.
