It's a genuine film. You could say an advertisment for Uday's future school and it will do its most to covey importance of purity and sincerity in your act (and in life). Taunts on the classless capitalists, disgust on prostitution, corruption of innocense and ultimately greed, you go through it all along the journey.
But you'll find a few shots, some sequences that'll stay with you forever. A sequence of typhoon could work well in a horror film. A shot of an agonized Uday could be a cover of a tragic novel. Film's dark sequnces can get really haunting sometimes.
No need to emphasize on the dance and choreography (not that I can if I wanted to), the main showpiece. Masters at play with their storytelling, I wouldnt know what to make of most of the moves. But its classical dancing in wide continuous shots, it's what every dance film/musical should aspire to be.
Plot summary
A writer goes to a film producer with a story in the hope of selling the idea for a film. As he explains it to the producer, scenes from his dance movie come to life.

Beautiful and wildly imaginative
This film is essentially a musical, and I know pretty much nothing about Indian music and dance, so I can't offer any kind of expert critique of the technical aspects of those elements of this film, but I can say that I found the music and dance in this film wonderfully entertaining and absolutely compelling. The dance performances are terrifically creative and dramatic and the dancers one and are are highly skilled and remarkably athletic as the best dancers always are.
The story is pretty standard stuff of the "Let's put on a show" variety, but the real pleasure for the audience here is in the music and dance, of which there's plenty.
Also of note are the special effects which are primitive but great fun.
