The first half of the movie really blew me away with the cinematography, film angles and the juxtaposing scenes of the the twisting of the mop water and the neighbours making out. But the plot twist and the way the movie ended in the second half leaves me feeling unsure about the whole story. Many elements were not unpacked and explained, like why was the mom against the union when she knew Mai was a good person and her confidant? And the characters' development at the end is also a question mark - how did they changed after four years? So many questions and ultimately their reunion scene is so poignant, but perhaps it is reflective of life. Many a times, there's no clear closure.

Overall, I would recommend this film.

I watched this movie at the beginning of this year. The movie shows us Mai's life, a situation of a girl being sold by her father to get some money to gamble and having a child when being raped, and she tries to get a new life after all, but her father still stalks her wherever she goes. I will set three parts for this movie:

• The first part: introduces the girl who moves to a new town, tries to rent a new apartment, works in a massage job in a new brand, and gets used to the main man's character;
• The second part: introduces the Mai character; they get to fall in love with each other, and their family knows about that;
• The third part: the father of the girl is dead, and the love is separate from the promised love again, and they don't get together again.
