For someone who was terrified of the dark for many years as a kid this movie touched my heart. The idea behind this film, the message it wants to transmit is great: it's the story about a boy named Orion who is scared of a lot of things, but mainly of the Dark. He gets the chance to spend 24 hours with the Dark and learns how to overcome his fears and that Dark is actually a nice guy.
The ending, though, ruined everything: time machines, including his yer unborn daughter in the fantasy story, the revival of Dark... I feel like this is no proper way to end this great story. It kinda ruined the whole message they tried to build step by step during the film.
But overall it was a nice movie and I enjoyed watching it.

Cute but the ending was not it
Dreamworks almost hits old school Pixar charm.
Orion and the Dark is a sweet and charming film, dealing with anxiety in a unique cross generational way. There are moments where it almost captures peak Pixar (think Up), which is a first for Dreamworks. A very good family film, that will age wonderfully as your family grows up. Especially good for families with ND children / parents or families with children / parents who suffer from anxiety.
The sudden non-linear nature of it might seem jarring, but trust me - stick with it - it makes beautiful sense at the end. Voice acting was on point too... not celebrity ridden like Dreamworks films tend to be.
Loved it (and my kids did too).
First DreamWorks movie of the year
Orion and the dark is a spectacular movie and it's so visually pleasing and it's the First DreamWorks Movie of the year and it's pretty nice!
The story follows the book which is originated from it and turned into a movie that was published in Netflix and I gotta say I liked it
The first 30 minutes was very good but then the story just does some weird twists but it was great after all I like the characters designs of the night creatures like sleep and sweet dreams and unexplained noise and quite I think but overall dark is the best character
Overall a great movie I rated it 7/10 but because of DreamWorks 1 extra points so 8/10.
