It has it moments when it was scary yeah. But most of the actings werent that good. I mean i t seemed so fake most of the time. I was scared for few times. But thats about it. I dont know how much budget they had but this would have potentially would be good movie based on manga if it had a good amount of money to recreate it into live action movie.

Pretty disappointing.
So very, very boring...
Never having heard about the 2013 Japanese horror movie "Fuan No Tane" (aka "Pet Peeve") prior to sitting down here in 2023 to watch it. So I didn't know what I was in for here, nor what to expect.
And on that note, then writer and director Toshikazu Nagae had every opportunity to entertain and impress me with the script for this movie. Nor was I familiar with the Manga from writer Masaaki Nakayama, so I don't know how true the storyline in the movie is to the Manga material.
Though it hardly mattered, because this movie from director Toshikazu Nagae fell entirely short of entertaining me, much less capturing my interest. It was a movie that was struggling uphill even from the very beginning, and the storyline and characters just simply never managed to latch onto me, so I frankly didn't care about either.
I was bored senseless trying to sit through the movie, and I ended up giving up a mere 40 minutes into the ordeal. And while the movie runs at only 87 minutes, I have no intention of returning to attempt to finish watching it, because I simply didn't care about the storyline or the characters.
My rating of "Fuan No Tane" lands on a two out of ten stars.
