Splendid low key Japanese drama

This incredible drama, by a stellar director and featuring some stellar actors, is definitely a highlight of the year and indeed yet another showcase of the provice of Japanese cinema and this great director.

The actors all do an incredible job, particulary the two laeds, of course as most would know having seen them otherwise, and they convey a great emotional way of dealing with grief. One might think the whole supernatural elements make it go a little overboard, but I digress and feel it compliments the excellence splendidly. Very beautifully and poignantly written and paced indeed.

The cinematography, cutting and editing is incredible, very beautifully put together, stellar imagery and very much in line with the director's style and tone of the film indeed.

Overall ,definitely an incredible film, that is highly recommended for any lover of film!
