Son of Batman is a weak movie because of one simple problem which makes you lose interest in what happens. The writing of the characters is lacking and makes them either one-dimensional or annoying.
Most actors acted their charaters fine like Jason O'Mara as Batman and Sean Maher as Nightwing and I got a chuckle or two from David McCallum's Alfred. The animation was also well done in the usual dark and atmospheric fashion along with some exciting incidental music.
But the biggest pain is Damian Wayne, and that's just sad, because we're supposed to care for him and his harsh upbringing, but he's just such an arrogant and impulsive jerk towards everyone. At best the movie is incosistent and it gets a little better by the second half. If you decide to watch Son of Batman, don't get your expectations too high. Not as obnoxious as Justice League: War, but still not strong enough to be more than okay.

Enjoyable Film
Son of Batman was an enjoyable film filled with amazing action scenes. However, this movie falls into the trap of so many other animated movies with characters who are seemingly invincible and immune to enemy attacks. In addition, the storyline was weak and simplistic without a lot of depth as it was clichéd and unoriginal. With that being said, if you are looking for a fun movie to watch that isn't too heavy or complex, this is the movie for you.
Nice animated batman movie
Probably "Son of Batman" isn't the best nor the most memorable animated flick of Batman, but that doesn't mean that it isn't important, you know? Because it's a story definitely worth to make a film adaptation, I mean...when I first knew about the existence of this movie, I tough to myself: "Wait! Batman has a son? WTF??? I have to check this out!"
I haven't read the graphic novel this movie is based on (Batman and Son), but something tells me that almost all the hate towards this film is because it's not truly faithful to it. But, as I haven't read it, it's something irrelevant for me.
But this doesn't mean that the movie has no fails. For example, a huge part of the movie is full of bloody battles, the cold attitude that Talia has even tough her father Ra's had just died (Batman fans will agree with me about the fact that Talia is truly faithful to her father and that if something happens to him, she wouldn't just throw it away).
In spite of its fails, it is a highly underrated and worth to watch, because it portrays in a very decent way the paternal side of Batman that we have never seen before.
