The movie is absolutely amazing. The temporal arc between two summers creates a great time dimension that allows the spectator to see the characters grow psychologically. The cast is absolutely spectacular. It was Flavie Delangle first major movie but she absolutely aced it. Also I must say I'm in love with the mid-80's discotheque atmosphere. The other actors are also great. The mother figure faces an interesting evolution during the movie and the complicity she has with her daughter by the end of the story is adorable. The plot describes perfectly the struggles that a lot of teenagers face. When you pass your final exams, society considers you and adult, but sometimes you don't feel like one and that put a lot of pressure on you. Anyway, the movie is great and I recommend it to anyone who searches for a serious-comical movie.

Movie Reviews
One of the best movie i've ever seen
ace but should carry a health warning ..... :)
.... ok so it is in the mid-80s and people smoked but dear was this film financed by the tobacco industry??? ; surely it must have been .... maybe i should run it again and check how many times they light up .... must run in the 200s or such .... half-way thru got emphysema ... pretty sure lung cancer was in the offing .... did any of the cast survive? I would wager not or maybe on an iron-lung
OK so that is out the way otherwise here bittersweet kitchen-sink excellently portrayed by Marina Foïs as the mother and by young actress here Flavie Delangle who has it all looks on-screen presence piercing eyes TOTAL star quaiity ... and does a great teen lost in the world at sea as to what should be doing with herself and meantimes trying this and that and some of the other .... really beautifully stitched together like a quilt depicting the mid-80s most of the ancillary acting folks fulfilling their task very well indeed
Go and watch this; French cinema at its best; moody; existentialist; deliberate; cool as duck ... and yes there are jaunty berets in the mix ....
