A Journey into a project

The film allows us to join in a journey into Stefan's world. A documentary that allows a personal look into the life of an artist and adventurer worth watching.

Stefan has become an exemplary proponent of tabletop gaming and the hobby resurgence.

Fellow nerds, game players, and folks interested in peeking into the world of RPG game players and artists will find this trip interesting.

Stefan has a rags to riches story and is sincere and genuine with his intention of sharing it and his love of art and games. He works extremely hard at his craft and his work comes through in this documentary cross section of his journey to fund a Kickstarter. Crowd funding is at the core of Dwarven Forge, so it makes sense that it should be part of this doc.

And the adventure continues...

With my roots in gaming starting back in 1974, my use of terrain and metal miniatures was highly desired by main gaming group as a means to stretch the limits of our imaginations not for myself, but the rest of the gang who partook in those particular games. I was very fortunate to have a very solid core group of friends who religiously devoted themselves to playing nearly every weekend for countless hours slaying monsters, saving the princess, and raking in the loot that stood as high as the mountains themselves. Watching this particular documentary made me feel like I was 7 years old again. Talk about a blast to the past.

How can anyone not enjoy this documentary of an immigrant's story who created his own adventure by traveling across the dark blue oceans to the greatest country in the world, reside in the greatest city on the planet, and find the success that any immigrant desires the most?

In today's economy, there are many who cannot afford the wonderful products that spring from Mr. Pokorny's vivid imagination but for those who have witnessed and actually used those products from the famous Dwarven Forge line, they have first hand account of that ability to bringing the world of imagination to life at that table where anything is truly possible.

When you sit down and watch this documentary, you are entering his world, the world where people like me wish to partake in on a daily basis. This is the world that gamers such as myself love to immerse ourselves in that blanket of fantasy. No longer is the plain piece of paper where we draw our maps into those foreboding dungeons enough, we have now a means to creating it from a much more spectacular medium.

Well done, Mr. Pokorny, thank you for the insight into your life and your creative genius. There is no doubt in my mind that you opened many a door to many a gamer with your products and provide inspiration to those who were not as quick to develop your beautiful work. You are perhaps the "Willy Wonka" when it comes to dungeon terrain creation.

Game on...

Dwarvenaut....the journey to the unknown...a most excellent adventure

This film talks about many things, Role Playing, Business, Society, Community, Drinking, Eating, and maybe even a Pirate reference or two. At its core, this movie excels at delivering a slice of life story that gives you a window into the many rooms and corridors of the main characters life. It may not have been intentional by the writers and directors, but the paths followed by Stefan mirror his livelihood....do I take the left passage or the right? This movie does a great job of taking you on that journey and gives you a window onto what the "road less traveled" might look like. It is inspiring and enlightening. A must watch for any role play fan or budding entrepreneur!
