I'll be honest: I have not personally watched this movie. I did, however, listen to the entire review by the God Awful Movie team. I am also a science enthusiast who reads a lot of stories, both books (such as "The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer") and blogs (such as "Science Based Medicine"), about medicine. Max Gerson is a crank who I wouldn't let treat a hangnail. This movie goes on and on about "chemicals" hurting people seemingly without any awareness that the carrots, coffee, and other foods the recommend are, wait for it, made of chemicals!
Did you know that Dihydrogen-Monoxide can kill you? Yet you consume vast quantities of it every day. Yes, that is a silly, gotcha, example since H2O is just water. Yet too much or too little can kill you. That's true for every other chemical and element (e.g., oxygen) your body needs to survive. Context and dose is important. There are thousands of chemicals and trace elements your body requires in minute quantities but too much can cause illness and death.
The only positive review as I write this is by @drakkar91 (8/10 stars) and their review headline uses the meaningless term "natural healing". Guess what? Cyanide is natural. Hemlock is natural. Arsenic is natural. But I wouldn't recommend ingesting any of those in an attempt to cure what ails you.
Beyond the medically dangerous propaganda espoused by this film it is simply awful in terms of its cinematic qualities: acting, directing, dialog, story, etc.
Plot summary
In 1928, Dr. Max Gerson, a German-Jewish researcher, stumbled upon a therapy that has cured tens of thousands of people worldwide since then, including patients's previously thought incurable by their doctors. For the first time, this film chronicles the epic true story of Gerson's miracle. A cure for cancer and most other chronic and degenerative diseases has been available since 1928. The therapy was developed by Max Gerson, MD, a German Jewish physician, hailed by Nobel Laureate Albert Schweitzer as, “the most brilliant medical genius ever.” Nine Gerson patients relate stories of recovery from the most deadly cancers (liver, ovarian, pancreatic) up to nineteen years ago. Their inspiring testimonies are powerful evidence of the Therapy’s effectiveness. Charlotte Gerson also describes her lifelong efforts to keep the Therapy alive despite powerful opposition.

Dangerous propaganda
Good lord
People, if you want to try natural therapy along with medical cancer treatments, by all means. . . But do yourself and your loved ones a favor and make sure you get your regular checkups and treatments. Just because a natural diet may have been made in good faith effort, it is in no way a conclusive evidence it works against cancer. Considering lives wrecked by coffee enema therapies and raw cow livers (now discontinued, thank god) there is more evidence than not this diet will cause you to lose precious time in your fight against cancer. Gershon may not be a quack but his research evidence on his methods were haphazard, lacking, and at best anecdotal.
