A good watch, is 'The Initiated'.
Andrés Parra, particularly, and Aria Jara add positive performances to this Colombian flick from 2023, one that sets up an interesting story. I enjoyed the premise and how it is portrayed, I would've liked a bit more background on why the world is the way it is but overall it's done well. Visually speaking, it looks nice too.
Interesting seeing who was involved in this production, which can be found via Prime Video. Here's how are seen onscreen: Andrés Parra Aria Jara Juan Pablo Urrego Jorge Cao Francisco Denis Victoria Hernández Julio Pachón Jefferson Quiñones José Restrepo Silvia Varón Santamaría Patricia Tamayo Ana Wills. Credit to 'em.

I enjoyed the premise and how it is portrayed
Credibility problems, but the main problem is a bland and unsurprising plot
The film takes place in a time and place where there is a shortage of clean drinking water. There is no shortage of water itself, because it rains all the time. Rainwater is just so polluted that you can't even drink it when it's boiled. This is the premise of the film. One problem is that nowhere is it explained why even rainwater is so toxic and why the source that poisons the air and thus the rainwater is not addressed. The fact that, after all, no one seems to be in short supply of clean enough water after the beginning of the film adds to the incredulity. This undermines the whole context of the film and its background story.
The film also suffers from a lack of credibility. For example, it would have been easy for the hitman to kill Frank at any point in the film, but for some reason this does not happen. The hitman knows where Frank lives, and Frank doesn't even seem to keep the door locked. He is allowed to continue his investigation in peace for an exceptionally long time. Gaby gets beaten up very badly in her last fight, but there is no bruise on her face after the fight. The film therefore had credibility problems in both small and big things.
The main challenge, however, was the rather boring and unsurprising plot. The whole thing is revealed quite quickly and then we are bored to watch the progression of a predictable and clichéd plot.
