Hallmark with some Italian flavour.

As the title might suggest, gelato is on the menu. Hunter King and Michele Rosiello star in another strong Passport to Love on-location romance that showcases some beautiful Italian scenery as well as telling the story of American Danielle, who travels to Italy and meets Giancarlo, who shows her everything that Italy has to offer.

So, not an original plot, but an enjoyable story nonetheless. The two leads were good. I think this is the first Hallmark movie I've seen that Hunter King stars in, and she does a good job. Ditto her opposite number, Michele Rosiello.

You know exactly what you're going to get from a movie like this, and it doesn't disappoint.

'Two Scoops of Italy' is a romantic comedy. Being a Hallmark movie, it is predictable. But being familiar with Hallmark's predictability it came as no surprise, and I knew what to expect going into this movie. That's what Hallmark is about: family entertainment.

Danielle is a chef, and she desperately needs inspiration for a new menu to save her restaurant. When her sister suggests she goes to Italy, Danielle sees it as the perfect opportunity to clear her mind, and concentrate on a new menu - and be inspired by the tastes of Italy.

Meanwhile in Italy, Giancarlo - who works at his family restaurant - is tired of the restaurant's same-old gelato flavours, and is trying to create an exciting new flavour. His most demanding 'critic' is a young boy who prefers strawberry flavour, and Giancarlo is trying to win him over with new flavours.

Danielle and Giancarlo meet by chance, and she helps him with new flavours - so much so that she neglects working on her new menu. Yes-yes, we know from the very beginning they are bound to fall hopelessly in love, but this was what I was in the mood for at the time: a romantic comedy to put a smile on my face - and it did.

I needed a good Hallmark charge and found this one was entertaining and charming too. The two main characters have obvious chemistry and it's very nice to see this handsome Italian representing his country. The making of new flavors gelato as the main theme also brings the charm to the script - but the deadline looms so it's a bit non-realistic as any investor/friend would not make demands and if it was expected than why did Danielle leave? So a bit confusing of the storyline BUT it's very predictable the ending.

The scenery is spectacular with the wide sweeping views almost like it is a fairy tale location. Set designs are quaint and authentic.

Very enjoyable.
