This film is an overt waste of time, there was no point of this movie being made. I seriously don't understand where most of the budget could have gone. You could easily recreate this with a phone camera. Actors are unremarkable. You could hire better at a local drama class. The script is abysmal, it leaves you witg nothing more than the bare bones it provides you. I don't understand who this movie is for, lost diaspora and first gen immigrants? Their own lives would be more interesting than this movie. There is no point wasting your time trying to watch this instead. Its not even worth background noise.
Plot summary
It’s 1996. Pooja is a teenage girl with a crush on a white boy, just like the ones in the movies she loves. But having grown up in a mostly Black and Brown neighbourhood, there is a hostile cultural divide between their friends. But, this isn’t a love story – this is a self-love story.

Meaningless movie
We need more of these types of films
Great little film for the under represented minorities in North America. Very likeable characters and a story with a lot of heart that everyone should be able to enjoy. We need more of these films written and directed by minorities. Like this one, they have all kinds of unique and interesting stories to tell.
Relatable and charming
The film while suffering from a lack of budget is saved by the cast members chemistry. If you grew up in Toronto or its more diverse surrounding burrows the film should be relatable. Despite what some may say there is nothing anti white or antimale in film.
