This is a very nice romantic movie but unfortunately was drag down by some unnecessary / offensive scenes like masturbation, guys walking around naked in front of family members, erections, porn, etc. The director must have thought these scenes were essential and funny but not everyone can appreciate these kind of humor especially in a youth oriented romance movie.
I was disappointed on the first half of this film and wondered why it got such high score on this site. After a week or so I decided to finish the movie and surprise, surprise I ended up liking it a lot. Guess I just wanted a clean romantic movie which I can proudly show to all the people in my household regardless of age.
I give this movie 7/10 rating. Sad because this could have been an easy 9+ for me.

Could Have Been One of My Favorite of All Time.
not-so-teenage flick
if you're around 15-23, maybe you can relate to this kind of movie. to me, this movie relates to my real love life. this movie is a wake up call for those who are related, and by watching this movie you realize that there's someone forever remarkable in you, your significant other, but that "someone" isn't destined to be with you. maybe, after several tries and efforts, you realize that this person will always be "the apple of my eye". someone who is remarkable enough and has changed you to be the better person you are today.
the person you want to be happy, if it's with someone else, and you're happy for them after all those years.
Shows what one goes through when in love with someone
I watched this movie when a colleague of mine recommended it when I asked them for good Chinese/Taiwanese films.
So how did this movie make me feel at the end?
On the surface, it made me feel happy because the characters are happy. However, deep inside I actually felt pain, sadness and even anguish at the fact that they are not together.
The main characters love each deeply right from school through college, but they have very different ways of looking at life and making one's life choices. This leads to a few disagreements and even fights. The boy is also too afraid to let the girl respond to his proposal, as he is too afraid to get rejected.
Eventually, they separate. They talk to each other once over the phone, a few years after separating. They reminisce the days they spent together, with the boy even thanking the girl for letting him love her.
At the end, she marries someone a few years older than her. I guess she preferred the maturity of the older person over the childishness of the hero.
The movie does have a "happy ending" in the sense that each of the characters are resolved to the fact their love cannot succeed, and are happy to see the girl getting married to someone she can be happy with. But it still hurt me as I normally tend to root for a happy ending where the main characters are together.
Nevertheless, this is a true portrayal of what one goes through when they deeply love someone. The inability to express your feelings openly, the fear of getting rejected by the person you love, etc. The movie brilliantly brings out these facets of romance. It also makes us understand that the first love you might have in school/college might not be your life partner, as you are bound to go through more experiences in life which could suggest that you are not made for each other.
