Plot summary

good coming-of-age story with outsider subject matter

16 year old Lindy (Maddie Ziegler) and her mother Rita (Emily Hampshire) live in her late grandmother's house. Rita is a psychologist with issues. Lindy runs track with her best friend. She's dating Adam although they haven't gone all the way. She is diagnosed with MRKH syndrome and her world is turned upside down.This is a Canadian coming-of-age indie with an outsider intriguing subject matter. Ziegler is working out her acting. The movie does throw me off a little by mentioning Ginger Snaps. For a moment, I thought this is going into horror territories. I do get the connection. Maybe they should mention a movie from a different genre. The subject matter may be awkward to many audience members, but that's kind of the point. It is not main stream movie material. They do handle it with care and skill. At its heart, it is a good coming-of-age movie.
